Our links: why crowd and article placements move rankings

Links remain one of the strongest ranking factors — if the profile looks natural. We show how our link strategy works from the inside.

Three placement types — three roles

  • Crowd links — mentions in discussions, reviews and communities. They diversify the profile and bring live traffic; placed in existing threads, not ones created for the link.
  • Article placements — full editorial pieces on niche platforms with traffic. The primary carrier of anchor weight and topical relevance.
  • PBN links — controlled placements from trusted domains, used when fast and precise weight transfer is needed. Learn more in the article on PBN 3.0.

Anchor list: 70/20/10

A typical distribution that keeps the profile natural: ~70% anchorless and branded, ~20% diluted ('read review of X', 'service like Y'), ~10% exact commercial anchors. Exact proportions depend on the niche — before starting we analyse the anchor breakdown of top competitors and calibrate to that.

Pace and distribution

A sudden spike in links on a new site is the most common way to trigger a filter. We spread placements across time, pages and types: first, weight to hub pages and the homepage, then to money pages. New projects start with crowd links and brand mentions; article placements come in from month 2–3.

What you see in the dashboard

Every placement comes with a status, platform, donor metrics and indexing date. Links that fall off or aren't indexed within 30 days are replaced free of charge.

Core principle: a link is not a row in a report — it is a voice from a platform trusted by both people and algorithms. That's why our donor selection is stricter than any link marketplace — more on that in the next article.
